Welcome back to the Readings by SunChariot newsletter!

Well it's December and the year is coming to an end. Happy holidays to you once again.

The ending of a year is always a time that makes me look back at all that has happened and to think about it and all it's meant to me and what I've learnt. This was a year of challenges and lots of change for me. Maybe not entirely surprisingly as it was 2013 and card 13 is all about change and transformation. :-)

I have to say it was a year for me or learning and that is always a positive thing, the way I see it. Much of what I learnt came to me through unexpected life experiences. And a lot of old things ended and new things started. Maybe that was part of my lessons, to learn to face the unexpected. In fact, I am sure that it was.

And then there were the things I decided to work on and learn on my own, just for the sheer joy of learning. The main one was learning more about and how to use and read with crystal balls. I already have 3 now and 2 more in the mail somewhere winging their way to me from China. :-)  I've adored the path that lead me to this year.

Although I don't see full fledged images like watching  a movie or looking  at a photo when using my crystal balls, they have been good to me in showing me images that make sense to me and answer the questions I asked and have been really helpful to me, even in the short time I've been working with them.

For me, I've found a new love in all this. They're something complexly freeing in them. In cards with images you have a framework to work with, a set image. But when Scrying (reading in a crystal ball) there is no set image to start with and you are free to see anything at all. That's been amazing for me. I've loved it so much I even tried to share some of this with you this month. I did my Asking about Life section for you this month with my favourite (crystal ball).

So after all that, LOL, what I really wanted to say is that I hope you had the kind of 2013 where you can look back as it ends and be happy for what the year taught you. I tend to believe that anything we learn about life can't help but benefit us later on.

Oh, and just before I go. here's something fun for you to play with, It's a quiz to tell you what colour your aura is, and then it tells you about your personality. A friend sent it to me and we both tried it and both of our were pretty accurate, so I thought I'd share it here:

And I truly wish you a 2014 that will bring you many moments that make you smile. Lots of inner warmth, joy, laughter and love this year,

Quote of the Month

You must be the change you wish to see in the world.

--Mahatma Gandhi

When I saw this quote I wanted to add it in this month, just because it's something I so believe in. We do affect the people around us. A smile or kind word raises spirits and the person may be more likely to pass it on to the next person he sees and so on. . I'm a believer in the ripple effect and that even the small things spread out from one of us to another and create positive changes. Likely more than we ourselves see or know.

And the big things can inspire others to do more. I believe, why look around and say "No one else is doing anything, why should I?"... When instead you can try to do something so that the next person says "If they did it, why can't I?  Maybe kindof like a buffet at a party where no one wants to be the first to go take something, Then once someone starts everyone follows. LOL

Tarot Demystified

The spiritual questions

This felt like time to bring up this topic, as these are some of my favourite kinds of readings. I don't think there is much talk about this, so I decided to start some. LOL

The best place to start this seems to be to try to define what I mean here by the word "spiritual".  By that I mean the word in the most basic sense, meaning anything that is related to how life and our lives work. That doesn't  have to include any concept of Spirit. it can if that is part of your belief system, but it's not a necessary part of the concept as I am using it here.

I find these kinds of questions can be important at times,  One reason, is that we all wonder at times how life works, why we are here, what the purpose of life is our personal life purpose...Tarot is a tool that can answer any question we ask of it, including that kind of questions. And well, sometimes we just want to know.

But just as important, and at times even more so, we all have things in our lives we would like to have, be and accomplish,  We all have goals we set for ourselves and things we are working towards. The clearer our understanding of how life works, the more effectively we can work towards those goals.  The better we understand why we are here on earth, the better we can embody that.

Those are some of my favorite reasons for loving these kinds of questions

Just for some examples of how knowledge in these areas can be helpful in life (and Tarot is a source of knowledge), suppose you asked a question about how destiny was at work in your life, in general and in a specific life situation for you. And what you learnt prevented you from wasting months of years trying to create something that was not destined to be. That would be a useful thing to know and understand.

These kinds of "spiritual" questions can help reveal the patterns of life and how life works more and more. if there are patterns to how life works that work predictably, its good to know them. And the more we see life's patterns and align ourselves with them and "go with the flow" of life the more likely we are to be successful. So, in my eyes, the more we understand about life, the more likely we are to succeed at what we try to be and accomplish

I think these kinds of questions can give truly valuable answers to our lives, but they are often overlooked. The more we understand of what is going on behind the scenes, the more we effectively we can work with what we are given to work with. And knowing why we were given it and what we CAN accomplish with it (often much more than we ever imagined) can lead us to try new things that we never might have and to succeed at them. The answers we get can show us that we are more than we ever imagined and capable of so much more than we were taught.

Tarot, as a tool that can answer anything, in my experience does well at answering these kinds of questions. The answers can be fascinating in and of themselves and pretty well always useful.

You can ask the cards anything at all. I listed some examples of these kinds of questions below. I am sure that you can and will think of many more. :-)

  • What can you tell me about destiny? How does destiny work
  • What does it mean to be a human being living on earth (at this time)?
  • What is the purpose of life?
  • What is my life purpose (that I am meant to accomplish in this lifetime)?
  • How am I connected to the other people around me?
  • How am I connected to the planet?
  • What am I meant to learn from this situation I am facing?\
  • What can you tell me about if there is an afterlife? What is the nature of this afterlife?
  • How does Tarot work? What is answering me (or us) when we do a reading?

Etc, the questions are endless and of course limited only by your curiosity.

If belief in Spirit is part of how you see the world, of course you can ask questions on that too. You can ask anything about life and how it works that you want to. Eg.

  • What do my angels/God want to tell me right now. (Tarot can be an excellent tool for clarifying that))
  • What is my soul trying to do/create right now?

And all kinds of other questions of this sort. Again you can just ask anything it would help you to know. And if this is part of your belief system these can help connect you more and bring more oneness., closeness and love. And that can spread out to all areas of your life,

Coming next month: Creating connection through the cards
Asking about Life

This month I did something different for you.

Instead of using my cards (Tarot or Oracle) for you here, I used one of my crystal balls (the one pictured above).

I have 3 right now with 2 more in the mail on the way to me, But this one was my first and is both my largest and my favourite so far.  I have been working with crystal balls for a little while now, and I've just totally loved them since Day 1. Although you know I love my Tarot and Oracles, there is also something freeing about scrying. Having no set images at all, means you can literally see anything at all in it. And it feels even more magical to read with as anything at all that you see is coming from inside you and from that connection inside you to wherever the answers come from. So this month, since I was having so much fun with my crystal ball I decided to use it for you here.

The question I asked for you was: "What is beyond the apparent in life, that is there but that we don't usually see or recognize?"

I tried to add in some photos to show approximations of what I saw, some are closer than others. And this is what happened:

First, I saw an ever-moving lattice of energy. Moving fairly quickly, like the way clouds move across the sky in a film that is sped up. If you know what I mean. Somewhat like this:

But more wispy and swirling around. It was purple energy and purple for me is about healing, I felt that this was saying that there is an energy behind things and that our lives themselves are self-healing, just as our bodies are.

There was lots of constant movement, spreading outwards from a central point. This said to me that things are always in movement behind the scenes. That our lives "spread" out before us,  as the planets spread apart from each other over time. There was green in the energy to, which to me represented growth...

I then saw this:

That I sensed as the head of a baby about to be born.  That said to me that there are new things that are about to be born into our lives before we even start to be aware of them. Sometimes quite a long time before we even suspect...Things as in motion in our lives a while before they actualize and we become aware of them.

In another sense that shape also looked a bit to me like "the tip of an iceberg", and it can also be saying that what we are aware of is really just the tip of the iceberg of all that is going on related to our lives.

Then the shape morphed into this shape:

which naturally was a message about love for me. And about the love-based positive emotions and parts of life. This said to me that things self-heal in our lives and work to reset to a positive  place if we step back, go with the flow and get out of life's way. Not to say that we shouldn't try to create what we want of our lives, just that things in our lives are set to heal back to a positive place if we let go and don't try to create from stress or negativity. If things aren't working as we hope, if we step back things will go back into place on their own over time. That is what I got.

I saw the swirling energy again forming into an ever-changing face, in constant change and motion...It kept moving and changing shape. It seemed to be telling me that there is an intelligence behind things and that life is not just random, likely what answers us when we do readings.  And/or that as things change we change who we are/evolve, we change our minds on what life is and what we want out lives to be,. We are a reflection of the ever changing energy behind things. And about the oneness between us all.

And that is what I saw, but when I blew out the candle I was using in this reading, something unusual happened.  It would not go out at first. It took 4 tries, even though I was blowing hard. Since to me everything, and especially everything related to a reading, has meaning....and since 4 is the number related to completion and the totality of things for me,  I took this to mean that that this energy is at work in all parts of our lives and will continue to run throughout our lives always.
December 2013 Friendship Reading

This month I used the very beautiful nature-inspired Gaian Tarot for you, by Joanna Powell Colbert. I watched this deck for a longish time on Joanna's web site, seeing all the beautiful cards come into being before the deck was available to the public. Watching them emerge from the uniqueness of Joanna's heart and soul, one by one, And of course this reading has a lot to do with that, with the unique beauty that is in yours.

The question I asked for you was: What do you most need to know right now about how to make the very best of all that comes into your life this December?

And here is what this deck had to say:

Card 1: The Magician

The Magician is a card from the Major Arcana. And so you are being told that there is and important life lesson that your life will be working to teach you this month, in relation to the message of this card.

And the general meaning of this card is that ....well, the magic is in you. It says that you have within you the power to create what you want of this month. You may not fully realize it yet, but the message of this card is that yes you have it there inside you. What you want from this month, you can have it. It's just a matter of knowing you have that inner power and strength and about using your inner tools to take you where you want to go.

The tools of the Magician, the tools with which he can have what he chooses to in his (or her) life, as his thoughts, feelings, his creative power and the goals the he chooses for himself and the ways in which he deems it best to carry them out.

This card is telling you that it would be helpful to you this month, and likely beyond it, to see and realize that you have that power to create what you want, And maybe to think on how to use it to the best advantage. This card says you are not in reality someone to whom life just happens. You are creating your life as it is, for the most part.

As for the card image, It says that within you, you have always been the creative power in your life. The image also shows a warmth and connection around you. You are not alone, and the others around you can help you get to where you want to. That could be considered another of your tools. And that the universe itself is on your side.

And mainly what I see here is that it will be important to your life this month and to learning the lessons that your life is sending, to be open with others and talk about all this with others. They may have a point of view that could be really helpful to you.

And that in the end it's really all about being the real you, about dancing to the beat of your own drum. finding your own uniqueness and following it, openly being the true you who you are deep inside, and finding your own inner rhythms and inner harmonies and following where they lead.

Card 2: 4 of Earth

This next part to your answer about how to make the most of this month is about your goals. Earth (more traditionally called either Pentacles or Coins in most decks) is all about the goals you choose and set to achieve what you want to, and the work that you are willing to put in to make them happen.

The 4's for me are about completion, about bringing things to completion. So, so far the first card has told you that you have the power to make anything you want of this month. The tools are then inside you to do so. they are a real part of you. The next logical step, shown here, is to decide what you want.

If you knew you could accomplish what you wanted, and you have just been told that you can, what would you like to have and accomplish in your life this month. What goals would you like to set, work on, and achieve for this month.

That is the next step in the process that is shown here. You have to know what you want to work towards, before working towards it. :-)

A hint for you here, is to think of what has felt fulfilling to you in the past, what nurtured you and felt good. What have you always wanted a lot of in your life. What feels natural to you to have, that is a natural part of you that you can't imagine being without. These could be some hints to what would be worthwhile to you to work to accomplish. You can look as far into the past as you like. But when you find it, you'll get that AHA feeling and you'll know that is what you are meant to create now and be.

Card 3: flipped 3 of Air (reversed)

This card, and the next two as well, are flipped cards. Cards that flipped out of the deck during shuffling or otherwise stood out in some way. When a flipped card comes up it says that there is something a bit complex in the answer and if you reread the answer from that card or take time to think about it, then you will see something deeper in it.

This part of your answer is a bit more complicated. :-) The suit of Air (traditionally called Swords) is about your thoughts and the way you think. A reversed 3, for me, is about endings...about something that must end to make room for something that is much better that is meant to come and take it's place. Or put another way, it can represent change, from a lesser thing to a greater one. But first you must let go of the lesser thing to move forward.

In effect, this card is telling you that to make the very best of what is coming to you this month of December would require you to change something about the way you are currently thinking. To stop seeing something in they way that you usually do and to learn to see it in a new way that will ultimately be more beneficial to you in the long run.

This would require you to look inside you and to do some soul searching. As you see in the image, there is the man, who represents you here, turning his back on all those books. That represents turning your back on things you have been taught in the past. Wisdom that was passed on to you, that may have been right for the person giving it but may not have been the best advice for you. We are all individuals after all, there is not necessarily a one size fits all when it comes to how we see the world around us.

And the image shows you journaling, which does not have to be taken literally (although if you happen to like journaling, go for it!). But really it is about getting in touch with what is going on deep inside you., Paying attention, taking note of it.  The fountain pen in your hand here, says that there is a fountain of wisdom and knowledge inside you. It's very close at hand and if you consult with it, you will be rewarded this month.

Cards 4 & 5: flipped 8 of Air (reversed) and Ace of Fire

These last two cards came out of the deck together. That makes them a card duo and it means that their meanings are very closely associated.

The first card of your duo here is the 8 of Air, reversed. Air is about your thoughts and your way of thinking about certain things once again. And a reversed 8 is about, well....romance, romantic thoughts and feelings and any romantic relationships in your life currently or that you hope to have.

And as you can see in the image, talking about your thoughts about this topic can be important to you this month. it can be talking about relationships in general and your thoughts and feelings on the topic, and/or the message may be about maintaining a good communication within the romantic relationships of your life. But the card says that will be a component that you can work on to make the very best of this month.

It's about finding the ways that everyone can feel comfortable and free to act naturally and be their true selves.  About how you can reach out to those you are in a romantic relationship with in ways that are freeing. Ways that create an atmosphere you can feel free in and where they can feel free also to openly be themselves. How to best build something that makes you both feel strong inside,.

And the second card of your card duo, and the last card of the reading for today is the Ace of Fire. Fire (usually called Wands in most decks) is about creating, your power to create and how to create things in the best way.

And this is the Ace, which is about purity, and all the positive love-based, open caring kinds of thoughts feelings and actions.

So the card is talking about creating what you create (in any romantic relationships) from that kind of place, creating only from positive feelings, empathy, mutual understanding, openness. Either working on the doing of that in any current romantic relationship you are in, or thinking over what this all means within and to a relationship.

The image says working on this this month can lead to something more and new  in relationships. To improvements, growth, and change,. And well, as you can see in the fireworks to more of that warm exciting kind of  "electricity"  and to feelings worth celebrating
