The Readings by SunChariot Newsletter
August 2o12 Edition
Volume 4, Edition 8

A big welcome to the first edition of my newsletter in Blog format! If you have been following me so far, welcome back! Glad to have you with me, my friend. If not, just to let you know this is far from the first edition, the first of my newsletters came out in late August 2009. so next month will mark the three year mark.:-)

I've truly enjoyed being here for you and sharing my life with you these past years. It's been my pleasure and my priviledge, And will continue to do my best to write you a helpful meaningful newsletter and one that reflects hwo special I know you are.

How this newsletter will work is that I will write each section of the newsletter as a separate Blog entry. So this section and the following six sections, form the body of the Aujust 2012 newsletter

Besides the change to a Blog format, there have been a few other changes to the newsletter this month. I have deleted the Tarot Superstitions section as I found ti too similar to the Tarto Demysified section. It felt like there was too much of an overlap.

At the same time, I did add you in two new sections. I added you in a section called "Quote of the Month" (the section directly below this one). I love a good quote and I hope that you do too. :-)

And I have also added in a second new section called "Asking about Life" In it I intend to ask the cards questions about the beauty of life, the kinds of questions that will help us to focus on the positive even when we hear negativity around us at times. I am hoping this will be a useful addition to the newsletter. And one that you will love as much as I believe that I will.

This Blog version of my newsletter is available to be viewed by anyone at anytime at this site. It will come out once a month, the last Saturday of every month. But, if you'd like an e-mail reminder each month to let you know when the new edition has come up, just click here and I'll get that out to you.
Quote of the Month

I've always been a big fan of inspirational quotes. They helps me see life in new ways and to remind me of things I may have forgotten while rushing around in my life. :-) So I thought I would start thsi section here to feature one i found noteworthy each month.

This was taken from the July 9th edition of Woman’s World magazine and is attributed to Ellen DeGeneres

“We can sit around and worry about what’s going to happen to us two weeks from now. I’d rather focus on the amazing things happening right in front of us. Animals help us do that.”
(Life is full of gifts waiting to be unwrapped) :-)

Present moment readings that can improve your life and help you feel happier

Society often portrays a Tarot deck as a thing of deep mystery with dangerous or negative cards...that can cause things to happen to us.
It is often falsely portrayed in uncomfortable ways such as this. And there are lots of popular misconceptions along these lines...which is, in fact, my reason for writing this column. To help eliminate them and to get the truth out.

Tarot is in fact a wonderfully positive tool. It is a tool that can pretty much answer anything you ask of it. Any question you can think of the cards can answer, when you really stop to think of it, the possibilities are almost endless. what would you fo with a tool like that? What would you want to know if having that knowledge could make you feel happier and more fulfilled?

It is MUCH more than a tool for asking about the future. It's uses are almost unlimited and go beyond just readings into Tarot meditations and more.

And most tines what is predicted in a reading on the future is fluid and changable. And, to me, Tarot is much better used S a tool to create your future than just to predict it,

And contrary to popular belief, there really ARE no bad or negative Tarot cards.

So, if you were to hold this beautifully positive tool in your hands, this tool that can answer practically anything you ask of it that could bring you happiness to know, what WOULD you ask of it? (in my experience Tarot CAN answer on any topic , but does not do as well with yes/no questions or timing questions) The kinds of questions we could ask are really limited only by our imaginations.

Some of my favorites are anything philosophical or about the meaning of life and how it works. Or just asking outright on how to get what we need. Choosing the best question is a very important part of a reading. The question, and even the wording of it, affects the answer you will get.

Some sample questions of these type would be:

--What can you tell me now that would make me happy to hear it?

--What outcome in this situation would bring me the most inner fulfillment?

--What steps can I take to achieve that outcome? ( a question aimed at creating the future you want, not just predicting what is coming)

--Why are things perfect and meant to be exactly as they are right now?

--What is my life trying to teach me right now through this experience?

--How will my life be improved once I learn it?

--How can I act in the mist love-based way in this situation?/ How can I encourage X to?

--Show me what is beautiful in my life right now?

--What qualities do I have that I may tale for granted but that others truly value?

--Why is what is happening right now in my best interest?

...but you get the gist.:-) These are all questions that would lead to strongly positive answers. Feel free to try some of them if you want to.

But, in reality, there is nothing negative about Tarot in the hands of a good reader. It is a problem solving tool, it does not create problems. It is a tool. To make you feel better, never worse. And best of all it can literally be anything we want or need it to be. The power to make the best of it is within each reader. Make yours work for you in the best ways and the magic of life itself will unfold before your eyes.

Coming next month: Why some readers dress as gypsies,

Asking about Life

I’m starting a new section of the newsletter for you here. It’s one I hope will be meaningful to you. Some of my favorite Tarot questions are the ones about the meaning of life. I’ve always been fascinated by those and love to ask them. And as you know, if you know me by now. I am a big believer in dong my best to stay optimistic and having faith in life. So I thought I would do some of that here. Ask questions related to that that could hopefully touch us all in our lives.

I am using a faery deck for you here. Something I don’t think I have done much in this newsletter so far, if at all. This is the Mystic Faerie Tarot by Barbara Moore and Linda Ravenscroft. Needless to say, another very beautiful deck.

The question here was inspired by this month’s Quote of the Month. It got me thinking about that childlike sense of joyful wonder and seeing the magic in life. And the state of mind that lets us see all the amazing things before us as just that. So I asked for you, and for me,,…for us:

What can you tell me/us about the nature of that state of being?

--The Lovers: J

That it is a very love-based state. One of the most love based states one can be in. It’s about slowing down, making the time to slow down so that you can listen to life with your heart as well as with your senses.

It’s about trust and caring and oneness. Closing your eyes and trusting that life is on your side and that all is well and will continue to be so. And this IS a Major Arcana card so it is talking about a very important life lesson here

--flipped The Tower (reversed) AND The Ace of Cups (reversed)

These two cards are flipped cards, cards that flipped out of the deck during shuffling. When this happens it indicates an important message and one we’re being asked to stop and think over. These two cards also form a card pair--they came out together so that means that their meanings are connected and closely related in this question

The first card is The Tower. It is also a Major Arcana card. And it also about a very important life lesson life. The reversal on this card strengthens it meaning and importance. It says it is a very very important message

The Tower is about a sudden change, A sudden unexpected change that happened very quickly and once it happened changed things forever. This card here is saying for me that we were born with that innate trust in life and the ability to see the true wonder in all around us. Then for many of us, something suddenly came along and changed that and he lost that ability to see things that way as easily as we used to. And it changed things forever. Something in our lives hit us and broke apart our ability to trust openly in all areas and to feel at home and trust in all situations always. And to see the miraculous all around us

The second card in this card pair is the Ace of Cups (reversed). As a Cups card, it is all about our feelings. About both our feelings and our passion for life. A reversed Ace is, the way I read, about justice. About fairness and justice. It was a lot to do with how just and fair we expect life to be. How sure we are that things will always work out for the best, or for that matter how unsure we are that they will always do so.

As for the image, the Cup (representing our feelings) is sitting in an open lotus flower. The lotus flower is a symbol of clarity of mind and heart. And a symbol of rising above the mundane aspects of life to reach greater heights, perfect symbol for this question

The Cup here is overflowing. And maybe this is the key. When you see it, what does that look like it means to you? Negative or positive, we get to choose how we view life. The overflowing water can look like tears of sadness and the overflow as something lost forever or wasted. Or we can see it as tears of joy at the beauty of like and the overflow is healing to the life and flower around it . And any other variation in between. When we look at the world around us we can see it all kinds of ways. It seems to me that choosing the positive ways leads to greater happiness and that those thoughts are closer to the truth. Which way would you rather choose to view life? Then just choose it, this card says.

(Incidentally, when I took the photos the cards came out more “yellow” that they really are. And for me, everything in a reading has meaning, even that. Yellow remind me of the sun and is a warm colour so its about warmth, healing, joy, contentment, a feeling of well being and like all is well with the world. The advice being that choosing the beliefs, feelings and thoughts that are in alignment with these, will lead to more of those feeling represented by yellow in your life)

To end this for today, I just had to add in another quote I found recently that I totally adore! Here it is:

'“If you're looking to find the key to the Universe, I have some bad news and some good news. The bad news is - there is no key to the Universe. The good news is - it has been left unlocked.'“ ~Swami Beyondananda (Steve Bhaerman)

August 2012 Friendship Reading
Here is the August 2012 edition of your friendship reading. It's designed to tell you how to live your life to the fullest this month and to make the most of this month.

This time around I used my new Gaian Tarot, a deck that I just love and have wanted for a long time, and finally treated myself to recently. The Gaian Tarot is by Joanna Powell Colbert and as you can see is a real beauty of a deck that reads well also.

So I asked this deck what you most need to know this month to make the most of it and this is what it said: (Interestingly, I used reversals, but none came up).

Card 1: Temperance

This first card is from the Major Arcana, and that means this is an important issue for you to work on this month

This card is telling you to take things a bit slowly and carefully this month. It is saying this month in particular is not the best one to be spontaneous, to act without thinking first, or to rush into things. Instead, this card is telling you to take things slow and to stop and think before you act

The question is only about this month, or course, but this card says things will go best in August for you if you take this advice.

The image shows you with a rainbow flowing from your hands into a bird's nests. You will FEEL this month in some area of your life (or in all of them), the promise of better things to come and of new better things about to be born. Life is hatching up something new for you and you will sense it and the promise of it. The flowers and the pink mist before you tell you that you will feel something beautiful coming your way, something good and beautiful and love-based. And naturally you will be drawn to it and maybe have a tendency to want to rush out and meet it.

The message of this card is that you shouldn't try to rush things, that things must happen in their own time and to come when the time is right. Otherwise, something in the situation that needs healing may get glossed over and that can cause issues later on that could have been avoided, but following the advice of this card.

Card 2: 6 of Earth
This is a card from the suit of Earth, which for me is about our goals and the way we choose to work on them. 6's, for me, are all about love. So this tells you to work on your goals in a very love-based way this month. Try to work on your goals from a place of faith and belief in life. To know that life wants you to have your goals fulfilled and is working alongside you to create them. Expect things to work out for the best, no matter what.

This is also an image of great abundance. This card tells you that that is what life is, that that is what your life is. And you can expect that to be the final outcome. But for now just relax, have faith and let them come of their own accord, they can't be forced. Just get into the flow and your life will reward you.

As the 6 of Earth this card also talks to me about the love of the Earth itself. This asks you to stop and slow down and really pay attention to our planet and nature and how they work. See what you can do by doing that. This is a good month to slow down, not to try to speed things up

Card 3: 2 of Air
The last card here is from the suit of Air, about your thoughts. And it is the 2. 2's for me are about the interaction between two things. This card would usually be talking about your thoughts about what is going on between you and another person in your life. Sometimes it can be about the interaction between yourself and a specific situation in your life, but that is more rare. Usually it's about yourself and another person.

This image to me just says that whatever is going on between you two, just take a deep breath and relax. Just see wherever you as the natural place to be for you two now. It does not have to be the final outcome, but things go through natural phases to get the the outcome. Each is necessary to get there. Where you are now is just one of those phases.

Seeing this is the key. And this message very much refers back to the message of the first card. This month is not a good month to react to that person hastily. Think before you act, take a deep breath and count to 10 if you have to. But do not try to push things. Don't try to rush them. Just relax and accept all as it is for now. Accept where you are now is where you are meant to be right now. Next month may be different. But it is not advised this August to rush or push things or to act too spontaneously with this person, or react very emotionally without thinking of the consequences first.

The woman here (who represents you) is wearing blue. And blue is the colour of the throat chakra and of communication. This card is not saying at all to avoid communicating with this person, just not to try and push things or to react overly emotionally. To look before you leap, or to think before you speak....kind of thing.

This image to me talks about meditation. To me it is saying that meditating. particularly this month, would help give you and heighten that feeling of inner peace and acceptance that will lead you in the best direction. It also says to me that getting out in nature this month would help you with this

If you happen to live in a part of the world where it's warm right now, getting out for walks in nature, spending time at the beach and things of that nature would likely be helpful. If not, there are still many other ways to appreciate nature such as nature CDs and looking looking at beautiful nature images.
